UAS Control Segment (UCS)
The Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Control Segment is a framework for software capabilities of the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force. Its primary purpose is to promote government acquisition flexibility for control segment subsystems and components. It includes leading U.S. industry suppliers, customers and users.
Based on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles, the UCS Architecture works toward establishing commonalities to more easily acquire, integrate, and extend UAS control system capabilities.
RTI is an active contributor to the UCS Working Group, helping to reduce the time and cost to develop, integrate and launch capabilities for ground control systems.
To help advance UCS goals, RTI offers:
- UCS architectural design and support program that provides training and expert design guidance on architecture, interoperability, data-modeling and mapping the current USC data model to platform-specific infrastructures.
- Connext DDS Professional, our comprehensive systems communication infrastructure software that is fully compliant with the OMG DDS standard.
- Connext DDS Cert, our small-footprint messaging software specifically designed to be safety certifiable under DO-178C Level A. It is ideal for resource-constrained applications.
